Amazing news here, Sony have confirmed that firmware 2.40 will be available to download on 2nd July 2008, this wednesday.

In the second part of 2.40 features Sony released a video of the trophies:

These trophies look great and are in much greater detail than i expected they would be, you can even compare your trophies for a game to your friends which is great. The trophies will be available in not only first party games but can be incorporated into third party games which will be needed to added via an update from the the company.

• PixelJunk Eden

• SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation

The trophies for Stardust HD will be available straight away for users who buy the game AFTER the update, a update will be released shortly for gamers who currently have the game.

Also Sony finally confirmed that they did update the friends list to 100 people, everyone already knew but now its confirmed.
